A person reads every email

Most answers are below. If yours is not, email support@jobassay.com and a person will reply — there is no ticket queue and no bot.

I lost my licence key

Your key was emailed to you when you subscribed, and it is always available in your Polar purchases — sign in with the email address you paid with. JobAssay has no accounts and no passwords, so there is nothing to reset on our side; Polar holds the record of your purchase.

If you cannot find the purchase, email us from the address you paid with and we will look it up.

Using Pro on another device

One licence covers three devices. Install the extension on the other machine, open Settings → Licence key, and paste the same key.

Replacing a computer? Deactivate the old one first from your Polar purchases page, which frees the slot. If you no longer have access to the old machine, email us and we will free it for you.

The extension says my key is invalid

Three things account for almost every case:

  • A stray space at the start or end of the pasted key. Retype the last character to be sure.
  • All three device slots are in use — see above.
  • The subscription was cancelled or refunded. Access continues to the end of the paid period, not the moment you cancel.

If none apply, the check may have timed out rather than failed. Wait a moment and press Activate again before assuming the key is wrong.

Cancelling

Cancel any time from your Polar purchases page. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for — cancelling does not cut you off immediately. Your board, notes and saved jobs stay on your device either way; they are stored in your browser, not on our server.

Refunds

14 days, no questions asked. Email support@jobassay.com from the address you paid with. You do not need to explain why.

Why did the Fit Score refuse to score a job?

If a posting is too short to judge fairly, JobAssay declines to score it rather than inventing a number. Paste the full description into the card and try again — some job boards only expose a summary until you open the full listing.

The Fit Score seems wrong

It is an estimate from comparing two documents, not a verdict on you. It cannot know anything absent from your resume, so work you did not write down is work it cannot credit. Each gap is marked as either a wording gap — you have the experience but have not named it the way the posting does — or a real gap. The wording ones are usually worth fixing before you apply.

It will not tell you that you are unqualified, and it should not be read as a prediction of whether you will be hired.

A job board stopped capturing correctly

Job boards change their markup and a reader occasionally breaks. JobAssay falls back to a form you can paste into, so you are never blocked from saving a job. Tell us which site and we will usually have it fixed within a day or two — no extension update needed on your side.

Getting my data out

Settings → Export CSV, on the free tier as well as Pro. Everything you have saved, in a file you own. We do not consider your board ours to hold onto.

Installing

JobAssay is available for Chrome or Firefox. What we collect and why is set out in the Privacy Policy, and the terms of the subscription are in the Terms of Service.
