How this list is built

We resolve each company’s applicant tracking system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee or Personio), read the public board API, and keep the roles whose title identifies backend work. A role counts as remote only when its own location field says so — a posting that merely mentions remote working does not make an onsite role remote. Region eligibility is read from the posting text and stays unstated when the posting is ambiguous, because telling you a role is open to your country when it is not is worse than telling you nothing. Companies appear here with at least 5 open backend roles and at least 1 remote one.
